Job summary

Cleaver-Brooks is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support production processes, APQP deliverables, and process improvements. You will gather data, document workflows, and contribute to safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals in a manufacturing environment.

You will participate in change management, lean activities, and cross-functional teams, with opportunities to design tooling and support new product readiness in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Foundational exposure to APQP concepts and structured launch processes.
• Lean, TPS, or Six Sigma principles are expected.
• CAD modeling and drafting experience.
• Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining APQP documentation (process flows, PFMEAs, control plans).
• Support engineering change documentation and basic risk assessments.
• Participate in cross-functional reviews and data gathering for communications.
• Engage in daily Gemba activity and waste identification.
• Support Lean activities like value stream mapping and Kaizen events.
• Assist with capital project data collection and simple cost-benefit inputs.
• Track cost savings for improvements and capital projects.
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Support root-cause analysis for quality and equipment issues.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, jigs, and automation to improve safety and efficiency.
• Assist in new product introduction with documentation and manufacturability checks.
• Perform basic data collection, capability studies, and workflow observations.
• Assist equipment specification, installation planning, validation, and monitoring.
• Support safety initiatives with hazard identification and engineering controls.
