Job summary

Indium Corporation in Rome, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer I to develop, implement and support optimized manufacturing processes. The role includes data analysis to improve efficiency, product flow and determine root causes. Assignments are less complex and limited in scope and risk.

The position requires hands-on mechanical knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to work independently on multiple tasks. Local travel and a Monday–Friday shift are typical for this site.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical knowledge and experience required.
• Clear, organized, professional communication in written and oral form.
• Electrical and/or software development knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering concepts to assigned projects.
• Develop and implement optimized, cost-effective manufacturing processes.
• Follow change control methods for product/process development.
• Develop manufacturing processes by researching, designing, modifying and testing methods/equipment.
• Provide hands-on technical support and training for processes and personnel.
• Ensure clarity of customer requirements on manufacturing docs to Production/Quality teams.
• Improve processes to drive cost reductions and quality improvements.
• Create engineering docs, procedures and work instructions per quality standards.
• Analyze process data to drive efficiency and determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Apply SPC and Lean principles.
• Contribute to project cost estimates, timelines and milestones.
• Keep team updated on status, issues and risk mitigation.
