Job summary

Windings, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to improve process capabilities and ensure smooth transfers of products to production on the shop floor.

You’ll work hands-on with cross-functional teams to drive quality, efficiency, and innovation, turning challenges into concrete improvements. The role emphasizes solving complex problems, optimizing workflows, and contributing to technical reports and validations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science from an accredited university.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools (Gage R&R, DOE, SPC) and quality requirements.
  • Ability to identify technical problems and apply systematic problem-solving.
  • Basic understanding of electric motor theory and inspection methods.
  • Ability to create presentations and recommendations for customers.
  • Apply basic project/process management tools to meet deliverables.
  • Develop effective work relationships with suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop capable processes and ensure efficient transfer of product into production.
  • Initiate and conduct defined technical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Assess process capabilities and implement improvements for discrete processes.
  • Create proper documentation meeting contract requirements.
  • Write clear work instructions for manufacturing operators.
  • Assist in disposition of non-conforming rejects and prevent recurrence.
  • Contribute to technical reports, validations, and qualifications with data.
  • Write validation protocols and reports for new processes.
  • Gather technical data for technical reviews and oversee development builds.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of production processes and materials.
  • Assist in designing fixtures and tooling for product development.
  • Create dimensional characterization methodology and inspection criteria.
  • Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions for quality or cost.
  • Educational plan to advance technical skills and effectiveness.
