What You Will Do
- Gather manufacturing data for the Cold Start Initiative regarding out-of-production spare parts or RFQs.
- Implement manufacturing processes, especially in aluminum and steel brazing, welding, and machining for aerospace Heat Exchangers.
- Utilize GD&T knowledge to integrate within production processes, with a keen understanding of B/P interpretation.
- Support the restart of legacy heat exchanger products.
- Create and modify work instructions for operations and assembly, with Solumina knowledge preferred.
- Manage projects and process tasks, following approval processes for operation sheets.
- Identify areas for manufacturability improvements, cost reduction, or reliability enhancement.
- Apply knowledge of 3D modeling (NX preferred).
- Mark-up requirements for tools, fixtures, and gauges.
- Support supplier questions regarding fixtures and parts.
- Attend meetings with production managers to assess processes.
- Draft process ideas for cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Design and test process upgrades and new systems.
- Develop routines and best practices to ensure quality.
- Create standardized operating instructions and monitor upgrades.
- Provide process documents and SOPs to the Product Manager.
- Respond effectively in high-paced environments and troubleshoot production issues.
- Create presentations to highlight productivity and cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage project and process tasks related to product quality.
Work Experience
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, including Sheet Metal.
- Knowledge of high-level manufacturing processes and tools.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and operation sheet generation.
- Experience with AS9100 standards and aluminum/steel brazing, welding, and machining.
- Familiarity with fabricating and manufacturing sheet metal parts.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards, process simulations, and troubleshooting.
Desired Skills
- 3-6 years of experience.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter, NX, SAP, Solumina, and Heat Exchanger manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, organized, and excellent in communication and teamwork.
Work Requirements
- This role is onsite in Windsor Locks, CT.
- Must have own transportation to meet working hours.
- Ability to work in a shop environment, including extensive walking and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Pay: $85,000 - $90,000 per annum plus benefits.
