Job summary

ABB is seeking a Production Engineering Specialist to optimize assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours and meet cost, quality, and safety targets. This role supports production targets and defines working phase sequences for new processes.

You will identify improvement opportunities, approve process designs, and lead start-up support and testing of new technologies to boost productivity and reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or Production Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • US work authorization; sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and recommending improvement opportunities and implementing improvement projects.
  • Approving the design for processes developed internally or externally and performing final tests.
  • Providing support to Production during start-up, defining action plans and training maintenance and production resources.
  • Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction; leading testing activities and external provider choices.

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Production Engineering Specialist__In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.Your role and responsibilitiesIdentifying and recommending improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.Approving the design for processes developed internally or externally and performing final tests with respect to the project.Providing support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources.Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or Production Engineering.2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environmental or similar.You are immersed in industrial engineering methodologies and the manufacturing market.Possess an enhanced knowledge of continuous improvement.You are passionate about / you are captivated by / you are innovative around.Have a demonstrated experience in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering.You have work authorization in the US region.
