Job summary

ABB is seeking a Production Engineering Specialist in the United States to optimize assembly methods, processes, and equipment. You will focus on minimizing labor hours while aligning with quality, efficiency, cost, and safety targets, and define phase sequences for new processes to hit cost and investment goals.

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement in industrial settings.

  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities within production processes, ensuring time, quality and cost targets are met.
  • Approve internal or external process designs and conduct final tests for projects.
  • Support production during start-up of processes/equipment and train maintenance and production teams.
  • Evaluate new process technologies to boost productivity, quality and cost savings.

This position reports to:

Production Engineering Specialist

In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization's assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.

Your role and responsibilities
  • Identifying and recommending improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Approving the design for processes developed internally or externally and performing final tests with respect to the project.
  • Providing support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources.
  • Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or Production Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environmental or similar.
  • You are immersed in industrial engineering methodologies and the manufacturing market.
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of continuous improvement.
  • You are passionate about / you are captivated by / you are innovative around.
  • Have a demonstrated experience in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering.
  • You have work authorization in the US region. Sponsorship is not available.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $68,600 and $109,760 annually.
