Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Process Improvement professional to support manufacturing and CI initiatives. The role focuses on implementing cost reductions, SPC techniques, and training programs while assisting Reengineering activities at the site.

The ideal candidate holds a 4-year engineering degree, has at least 1 year of experience, and is capable of driving change in a demanding environment. CAD design of tools/fixtures is part of the job.

Qualifications

• The position requires a 4-year engineering degree (Mechanical or Industrial).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing or process improvement.
• Preferred knowledge of forging or metalworking processes.

Responsibilities

• Support Manufacturing Process Improvement initiatives and plans.
• Develop cost reduction programs for the assigned area.
• Lead SPC implementation and maintain measurement/control systems.
• Support process training initiatives and admin a Reengineering program.
• Manage special projects to support lean manufacturing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with CI, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering.

Job description

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide program support to both Manufacturing, CI and the Product Engineering organizations. In this capacity, the position will support/facilitate manufacturing process improvement efforts and plans. This position will also be responsible for implementing cost reductions, introduce and implement Statistical Process Control techniques as well as associated measurement and control systems, assist and develop Training program initiatives, and provide administrative and program support to Reengineering activities at the site.

Essential Job Functions

• Support and facilitate Manufacturing Process Improvement efforts and plans.
• Develop and initiate cost reduction programs in the assigned manufacturing area.
• Introduce and implement SPC techniques and associated measurement and control systems.
• Assist and develop Training program initiatives.
• Provide Administrative support to Reengineering activities
• Manage special projects that support lean manufacturing
• Design tools and fixtures using CAD
• Collect and analyze data to support team efforts.
• Conduct training sessions to support continuous improvement efforts
• Any additional duties assigned by manager

Requirements

• 4 Year degree in engineering (Mechanical/Industrial)
• 1 Year of experience
• Strong knowledge of forging or metal working processes preferred
• Able to drive change in demanding atmosphere

Special Skills And Physical Requirements

• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Good computer skills (basic Microsoft software packages).
• Working knowledge of SPC tools and techniques.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or as a team member.

Salary and Benefits

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $70,000 to $100,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter.
