Assembly Process Engineer
What you'll do:
- Develop plans and work instructions for handling, manipulation, guidance, and integration of sub-system components.
- Assist in finalizing assembly strategies and collaborate with system teams to optimize steps, tools, methods, safety measures, and specifications.
- Ensure tool and personnel access for system assembly steps as outlined by system owners.
- Plan part movements at each step, checking for interferences with other systems during movement and placement.
- Construct assembly work instruction packets for all SPARC sub-assemblies and incorporate them into work orders to optimize sequence.
- Assist in developing and improving work instruction packet and work order creation processes to enhance standardization, efficiency, safety, and clarity.
- Collaborate with assembly engineers, tooling engineers, designers, coordinators, and on-site personnel during Tokamak Assembly.
What we're looking for:
- At least 2 years of technical experience in integrating complex large mechanical structures (e.g., aerospace, chemical) and experience in creating work instruction packets.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field, with experience in metrology, high-vacuum projects, manufacturing management software, NX, and large component lifting (>10 Ton).
