Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Documentation Specialist to document and standardize manufacturing processes. You will build and maintain Manufacturing Process Instructions, collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers, and ensure product quality and repeatability on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires at least one year of related experience and background in electromechanical assembly.
• Experience with polyurethane, neoprene, and/or epoxy molding is a plus.
• Experience in process improvement for waste/cost reduction and quality control.
• Experience using detailed manufacturing instructions, drawings, work instructions, and shop orders.
• Experience writing assembly and/or test procedures preferred.
• Strong collaboration across departments and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems to review BOMs and routings (IFS, Shop-Floor Workbench).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• US citizenship or U.S. Person required.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains files and formats for manufacturing work instructions with focus on standardization.
• Tracks status of manufacturing work instructions on the shop floor.
• Works with equipment operators to capture pictures of settings and tooling.
• Adds pictures and data to manufacturing work instructions.
• Maintains and updates work instructions to align with Engineering/QA.
• Uses tools like cameras, micrometers, calipers, etc. in documentation.
• Monitors effectiveness of instructions and updates as needed.
• Recommends equipment or process changes based on data.
• Provides general training to operators on work instructions.
• Maintains 'known problems' data sheets in instructions.
• Escalates design concerns to Engineering, supports IFS document control.
• Participates in lean initiatives and cross-department assignments.
