Job description

Manufacturing Press Technician - Third Shift

Jagemann is looking for a Third Shift Press Technician to perform preventative maintenance on presses and other machinery, while also ensuring the quality of the products produced.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts, empty parts buckets into hoppers, and halt operations if deficiencies are detected.
  • Precision Measurement: Use precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, bore micrometers, dial indicator height gauges) to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Cleanliness Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in and around the press and work area, addressing any visible debris, oil, coolant, or slippery conditions.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform minor preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication and auditing for loose parts and visible defects.
  • Material Handling: Load and unload raw materials, verify material tags, and safely use forklifts, overhead hoists, coil hooks, stock reels, coil straighteners, and banding apparatus.
  • Print Interpretation: Read and interpret part prints, understand SPC charts, and use SPC computer systems.
  • Record Keeping: Record production, material, and quality information accurately on designated operating systems.
  • Material Transport: Safely operate forklift equipment to transport materials, maneuvering in confined and pedestrian traffic areas.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned for experience, training, skill refinement, or advancement.
  • Team Participation: Attend and participate in team meetings and training programs.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Math, problem solving skills with a high degree of mechanical aptitude.

Previous work history in a manufacturing environment or experience demonstrating mechanical aptitude is required. Prior experience of operating a press is desired, but not required. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
