Job summary

Pacon Corp. is seeking production team members for 1st and 2nd shifts in Appleton, WI. Starting pay is $20/hour with a $1.63/hour shift differential on 2nd shift, plus potential to earn $22–$25/hour after 720 hours.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork in a non-rotating shift environment. Ideal applicants have a high school diploma or equivalent and can work up to 12-hour shifts, including occasional Saturdays during peak season.

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and system issues.
  • Capable of performing machine setups and changeovers for various products.
  • Must read, understand, and plan work from production orders.
  • Willing to participate in cross-training to operate multiple machines.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems as needed.
  • Set up machines and perform changeovers for diverse products.
  • Read production orders and plan daily work accordingly.
  • Cross-train to operate multiple machines throughout the plant.
  • Follow management directions and maintain 50–75 lb lifting capability.
  • Operate stand-up or sit-down lift equipment safely at heights up to 25 ft.
  • Utilize a computer and Microsoft Office software as part of daily tasks.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing efforts and safety initiatives.

Job description

  • 1st Shift: 5:00 am-1:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays during peak season.
  • 2nd Shift: 1:00 pm-11:00 pm Monday through Thursday with occasional Fridays & Saturdays during peak season.

  • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required

Requirements for All Positions:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and system issues
  • Perform machine setups and changeovers for a variety of products
  • Read, understand, and plan work based on production orders
  • Participate in cross-training and continuously develop skills to operate multiple machines throughout the plant
  • Follow direction from management, supervisors, and lead operators
  • Perform a variety of production tasks, including regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and be comfortable operating computerized equipment
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with a diverse team
  • Safely operate stand-up or sit-down lift equipment at heights of up to 25 feet, as needed.
  • Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office related software.
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

The employee may experience variable working conditions in the work environment. Examples include, but are not limited to, temperature variations, dust, noise, and exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Safety:

  • Observe all safety issues, practice safe working habits and report any unsafe situations to a supervisor.
  • Be adequately trained in lock out/tag out and all other safety related programs required by the company.
  • Adhere to all environmental health and safety policies.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production (such as participating in Safety Blitzes)
