Job summary

Arcosa Crushed Concrete is seeking a Plant Operations Supervisor to own overall plant operations, including production, material handling, inventory and logistics to meet throughput, quality and profitability targets. You will lead safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive improvements across the plant.

You will coordinate with Area Manager, Sales and Dispatch, supervise personnel, and develop a high-performance team while maintaining safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in aggregate recycling operations or process/production environments.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and climb heights.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Own overall plant operations (production, material handling, inventory, and logistics) to meet throughput, quality, and profitability targets.
  • Lead safety culture: conduct daily safety meetings, enforce safety programs, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements including environmental and labor regulations.
  • Plan and direct daily operations; monitor workflow and KPIs; identify and implement operational improvements and cost savings.
  • Oversee maintenance and reliability: ensure preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs and downtime planning, and maintain maintenance documentation.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop plant personnel; manage scheduling, timekeeping, attendance, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions.

What You Will Do
  • Own overall plant operations (production, material handling, inventory, and logistics) to meet throughput, quality, and profitability targets.
  • Lead safety culture: conduct/oversee daily safety meetings, enforce ARC 100 and company safety programs, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, including environmental and labor regulations.
  • Plan and direct daily operations; monitor workflow and KPIs; identify and implement operational improvements and cost savings.
  • Oversee maintenance and reliability: ensure preventive maintenance programs are followed, coordinate repairs and downtime planning, and verify maintenance documentation.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop plant personnel; manage scheduling, timekeeping, attendance, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Communicate routinely with Area Manager, Sales, and Dispatch regarding inbound/outbound materials, quantities, trucking needs, and upcoming work.
  • Support customer and vendor relationships; ensure product availability and service meet expectations.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and documentation; stay current through training and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • Experience: 3+ years in aggregate recycling operations or other process/production environment (5+ years and crushing plant equipment experience preferred)
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time at conveyor belt operation.
  • Ability to climb heights of 20 feet on a regular basis.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work in dusty, wet, and loud environment.
  • Required to wear safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel toed boots, ear plugs, gloves and various other similar items as required or needed.
