Job summary

WEIDMANN Electrical Technology, Inc. in Urbana, Ohio, is seeking a Machine Operator / Floater for rotating 12-hour shifts on-site. You’ll move between machine positions to keep production running safely and efficiently, with cross-training across roles.

The role operates on a 24/7 rotating 3-2-2 schedule, including two weeks of day shift (7a–7p) and two weeks of night shift (7p–7a) with alternating weekends. Signing bonus and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years manufacturing experience; paper mill experience preferred.
• Ability to read work instructions and apply them.
• Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Willingness to train others and cross-train.

Responsibilities

• Cross trained on different machine components and operating positions.
• Inspect and troubleshoot product quality to meet specs.
• Support machine maintenance and maintain a safe work area.

The role…

As a Manufacturing Operator, you'll play an important role in keeping our paper manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. You'll be cross trained on the different components and operating positions of our paper machine, developing the skills needed to support the entire production process. This position offers a variety of responsibilities, as you'll move between different operating positions on the machine based on staffing and production needs. We're looking for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, has strong mechanical aptitude, and is comfortable adapting to different responsibiltiies thorughouth their shcedule.

This position supports a 24/7 operation working a rotating 3-2-2 schedule, alternating between 2 weeks of day shift (7a-7p) then 2 weeks (7p-7a), including alternating weekends.

How you’ll make an impact…

• Comprehensive understanding of personal and machine-specific safety
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment
• Physically inspect, communicate, and troubleshoot the quality of product and customer/order specifications
• Retrieve order specs, documentation, and order data to/from SAP
• Assist in machine maintenance and perform periodic maintenance to the machine
• Move material to and around the paper mill and stock prep area

What do you bring…

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of manufacturing experience (paper mill experience preferred)
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
• Ability to read work instructions and apply them to the job
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
• Ability to train others and willingness to cross-train
