Weidmann Electrical Technology AG in Urbana, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator for 2nd and 3rd shifts. You will join a team that values hands-on work, learning new skills, and teamwork.

You will support production by setting up, operating, and monitoring equipment to manufacture components for the electrical industry. We are looking for candidates with a High School Diploma or GED, 4+ years of manufacturing experience, and the ability to read work orders and use precision measuring

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 4+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read, perform basic arithmetic and geometry (testing may be required).
• Ability to use precision measuring tools: ruler, tape measure, caliper, micrometer.
• Physical requirement: lift 50–100 lbs; work in a non climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to train others and cross-train.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate assigned manufacturing equipment per customer specifications.
• Monitor machine operations and adjust to maintain production efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot basic machine issues and communicate equipment concerns.
• Read and follow work orders, production specifications, and instructions.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet customer requirements.
• Document production data according to established procedures.
• Assist with machine changeovers, routine maintenance, and equipment adjustments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment following safety and 5S standards.

The role…

We are looking for motivated individual to join our manufacturing team at our Urbana, OH facility! Whether you're just getting started in manufacturing or have a few years of experience, we have opportunities for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, learning new skills, and working as part of a team.

As a Manufacturing Machine Operator, you will support production operations by setting up, operating, and monitoring equipment used to manufacture components for the electrical industry. Opportunities may include Slitting, Cuffer-Crease, and Duct Strip operations, with specifics assignments based on experience, qualifications, and business needs.

Overtime: May be required depending on machine/area. Volunteer opportunities and cross‑training opportunities may be available.

How you’ll make an impact…

• Set up and operate assigned manufacturing equipment according to customer/order specifications (make-to-order products)
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain production efficiency and quality
• Troubleshoot basic machine issues and communicate equipment concerns as needed
• Read and follow work orders, production specifications, and instructions
• Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet customer requirements
• Communicate with other departments to request raw materials and supplies to minimize downtime
• Document production data accurately according to established procedures
• Assist with machine changeovers, routine maintenance, and equipment adjustments as trained
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment following safety and 5S standards
• Follow all company safety procedures and collaborate with team members throughout the facility

What do you bring…

• High School Diploma or GED required, 4+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Comprehend and apply basic reading, arithmetic, and geometry (testing required)
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
• Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment
• Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldy parts weighing between 50 - 100 lbs, depending on the machine and work in a not climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to train others and willingness to cross-train
