Job summary

Zekelman Industries, Atlas Tube in Chicago, is seeking an Electrician to maintain and repair tube mill production equipment to maximize uptime and product quality. You will report to the Shift Manager and work in a fast-paced, safety‑driven environment.

The role requires strong electrical aptitude and a proactive problem‑solving mindset. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, reading schematics, and performing breakdown and preventive maintenance on production lines.

Qualifications

• Reads schematics, diagrams, and manuals to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and measuring devices in a heavy industrial setting.
• Must be able to perform basic math and read maintenance documentation.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and listening skills are essential for on‑the‑shop collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical systems on production equipment following safety procedures (LOTO).
• Ensure guards and safety devices are functioning before turnover to operations.
• Monitor equipment with manual and computerised maintenance systems.
• Read blueprints and schematics to diagnose faults and perform repairs.
• Carry out breakdown and preventive maintenance on production lines.
