Join Corning’s Kennebunk Team and become part of our legacy of innovation – we are hiring for Production Operators (Molding Department) across shifts.

Products manufactured at our site include those used in cell culture, genomics, drug discovery (including for COVID-19), bioprocesses, and more. Contribute to the cause by operating the equipment to produce and package our critical products.

Hours of Work: 1st Shift (8am – 4pm), 2nd Shift (4pm – 12pm), and 3rd Shift (12am-8am) – Monday – Friday, plus weekend overtime. We are also hiring with limited availability on Weekend Day and Weekend Night Shift (Fri-Sat-Sun, 12-hour shifts starting at 8am or 8pm). We may require flexibility in hours of work depending on business need.

Experience & Education: No experience required for Operator I jobs; manufacturing experience of any kind is a bonus. We do require that candidates are 18+ years old; and have high school diploma / GED / equivalency.

Work Environment: Indoor, climate-controlled work environment. Various clean rooms require the use of PPE, and gowning.

The purpose of this position is: Performs multiple tasks to accomplish the production and packaging of molded products, including the manual assembly operations of all CellCulture products. This position requires strict attention to inspection criteria, SOP’s, and production data to ensure the quality of the final products. This position will work with a variety of production equipment, measurement equipment, gauges, leak checkers, welders, vision system, TCT, and cell bind treaters and sealers. This position requires the ability to work independently, make quality decisions concerning manufactured products, and produce parts at the expected production rate.

This position includes significant duties such as:

  1. Follows standard operating procedures for the entire process: molding, assembly, accessorizing, and packout.
  2. Assembles/packages goods at the standard rate.
  3. Performs all necessary quality control checks as well as continually checks product for defects.
  4. Maintains accurate production counts.
  5. Performs inventory of all products and components in area.
  6. Checks for proper materials to build product.
  7. Performs final QA with quality department to inspect final packout.
  8. Maintains necessary records, including documents that require initials/signatures according to GMP and ISO requirements.
  9. Fills out daily inspection sheets, including sub lot numbers and lot numbers after verification of lot issuance program for traceability.
  10. Assists with setups and changeovers as required.
  11. Reports improper operation, unsafe conditions, defective materials, and any unusual conditions to the Supervisor/Team Leader.
  12. Builds sample orders as required.
  13. Checks to assure all gauges are in proper working order.
  14. Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  15. Properly uses Personnel Protective Equipment.
  16. Works with chemicals such as Isopropyl Alcohol and Loctite.
  17. Interacts with customers during visits.
  18. Follows established company rules and regulations and maintains quality standards.

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.
