We have an immediate opening for an experienced Weekend Operations Manager responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and directing all activities in the compounding, filling, and packaging operations during the Weekend Shift. The goal is to meet targeted batching and filling volumes according to the production schedule, supporting the company's customer and financial objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the activities of the production and compounding workforce, including permanent and temporary employees, to ensure schedules are met within quality, safety, and operational standards.
  2. Train, coach, and develop employees in the compounding and filling departments, ensuring performance and departmental objectives are achieved; manage performance, provide feedback, and maintain high employee engagement.
  3. Coordinate between shifts to maintain operational momentum and equipment effectiveness during shift changes; collaborate with other departments on planning, scheduling, and changeovers.
  4. Recommend improvements to equipment and processes to enhance operational effectiveness, labor utilization, and quality; analyze and prioritize reliability issues, setting standards for improvement.
  5. Implement cost controls related to supplies, overtime, and other variables to meet budget targets.
  6. Drive process improvements using problem-solving tools and manufacturing best practices.
  7. Monitor operational costs, including labor, inventory, scrap, and downtime, to ensure adherence to budget.
  8. Ensure all work complies with the company's quality system, FDA good manufacturing practices, and maintains a clean production environment.
  9. Promote and enforce safety and environmental policies in accordance with regulations.
  10. Ensure all employees are trained and adhere to SOPs, Work Instructions, and cGMP procedures.
  11. Assist safety teams with investigations and corrective actions related to safety incidents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Management, Operations Management, or related fields is preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of experience in a filling/packaging environment.
  2. At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a filling and packaging environment; experience in cosmetics or pharmaceuticals is preferred.
