What the Role Is

Babylist is looking for a Forklift Operations Lead to join our Weekend Shift team at our Fulfillment Center in Lockbourne, OH. This is a hands-on role for someone with extensive forklift experience who also enjoys guiding and supporting teammates on the warehouse floor. You’ll be responsible for operating a variety of lift equipment while also acting as a point person for day-to-day workflow and safety. While you won’t directly manage others, you’ll serve as a go-to leader, problem solver, and role model on the floor. This position is ideal for a seasoned operator looking to step into a leadership path.

This position is for the WEEKEND SHIFT ONLY– Friday though Sunday from 6:00am to 6:00pm

Who You Are

  • Experienced Operator: You have 5+ years of forklift experience and are proficient with:
  • Cherry Picker
  • Sit-Down Forklift
  • Leader on the Floor: You’ve worked at least 6 months in a warehouse lead or trainer role and know how to keep a team focused and productive
  • Safety-First Mentality: You follow safety procedures and ensure those around you do too. You're familiar with OSHA standards and proper equipment handling
  • Reliable & Responsible: You show up on time, work hard, and can be counted on to move inventory and support the team without constant supervision
  • Clear Communicator: You explain processes clearly, answer questions confidently, and know how to give guidance in the moment
  • Adaptable & Calm: You stay cool under pressure and are comfortable working across various departments and priorities
  • Physically Ready: You can lift up to 50 lbs, stay on your feet for long periods, and work in a busy, changing warehouse environment
  • Team-Focused: You support your coworkers, share knowledge, and work toward shared success
  • Eager to Grow: You're looking for a long-term opportunity to develop your skills and take on more responsibility over time

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Operate Equipment: Use forklifts (reach truck, cherry picker, stand-up, sit-down) and other tools to move, stack, locate, and count inventory
  • Lead by Example: Set the tone for safety, accuracy, and productivity on the warehouse floor
  • Support Inbound & Outbound: Assist with loading/unloading trailers, replenishment, picking, and shipping workflows
  • Guide and Support: Act as a resource for teammates—answer questions, give direction, and help resolve small issues before they become big problems
  • Train & Mentor: Help train new operators and team members, ensuring safe and consistent practices
  • Report & Communicate: Keep supervisors informed of delays, safety issues, or operational needs
  • Maintain Equipment: Perform daily forklift inspections and communicate maintenance needs
  • Keep It Clean & Safe: Maintain a hazard-free and organized workspace

The pay rate for this role is $26.75 per hour.
