Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the Manufacturing Operations team in Lewiston, Idaho. Swing shift options available (3pm-11:30pm or 12:30pm-9pm, M-F).

The role involves developing basic solutions under supervision, documenting prototypes, and maintaining engineering records. Ideal candidates have a 2-year technical degree and can demonstrate CSWA CAD modeling, drafting interpretation, mathematics, physics, and technical writing.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic MS Office skills.
• Background check satisfactory to SEL and negative drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of basic solutions under supervision of an engineer or experienced technician.
• Document prototype construction, build/test results, and maintain engineering records.
• Provide project estimates (labor, materials, schedule).
