Job summary

Stellantis in Detroit, MI, is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer-UPE – Assembly to support North America powertrain programs including battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine and transmission. You will join an engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.

Responsibilities include RFQ alignment, cost studies, facility and equipment installation, and deployment of SIS tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a related technical discipline or 3+ years in engineering/manufacturing with an equivalent background.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and present data concisely.
• Strong problem solving, cost studies, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Proficient with MS Office and data analysis tools.
• Willingness to travel 21-40% as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies.
• Understand RFQs, sourcing, design, manufacturing, and installation for air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration.
• Support NM and NNM powertrain program facilities, site prep, and machine installation.
• Drive standardization across plants and support SIS methodology deployment.
• Coordinate deployment of SPW tools and root-cause problem solving methods to mitigate risks.
• Develop/improve process and equipment standards for facilities infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Engine, Transmission, e-components, and Chassis manufacturing plants across multiple sites.
