Job summary

IMI Industrial is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop innovative equipment and fabrication solutions that meet customer needs while ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

You will collaborate with Project Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to bring concepts from ideation to production, with a focus on steel and sheet metal fabrication. The role requires leadership in design reviews and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of related product design experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software and PDM software, preferably AutoDesk Inventor and AutoDesk Vault.
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production techniques in steel and sheet metal environments.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, communication, and people skills.
  • Attention to detail and professional integrity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance new and existing products/product lines.

  • Work with engineers to align designs with production capabilities and compliance standards and meet milestones and timelines.

Job description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for engineering innovative equipment and fabrications that meet customer requirements while ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with the Project Management, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to deliver exceptional equipment from ideation to production.

In this role, you will:

  • You hold a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production techniques, specifically in steel and sheet metal manufacturing environments.
  • You possess strong organizational, critical thinking, communication, and people skills.
  • You live in the details and value accuracy and professional integrity.
  • You are a skilled communicator, both verbal and written with the ability to protect confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • You can manage and execute on multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
  • You drive to further build and develop the engineering processes as we continue to evolve.
  • You are proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You can accommodate periodic weekend or evening work when expected.
