Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a maintenance technician for our Taunton, MA plant. You’ll diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment, install and dismantle gear, and perform preventive maintenance to keep cable production running smoothly.

Responsibilities include operating shop machinery, ensuring safety, and upholding Quality Management System standards. Overtime and shift premiums may apply, with comprehensive benefits and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment; perform repairs.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses and other machine shop equipment with minimal direction.
• Perform preventive maintenance, 5S activities, and participate in continuous improvement events.
• Maintain a safe, orderly work area and ensure products meet quality requirements.

• *SEEKING 4th Shift 7:30 pm - 7:30 am*

Position Description

• Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and making required repairs to this equipment; installing and dismantling all equipment, welding, pipe fitting, and other work as required.
• Responsible for general mechanics, pneumatics and power transmission equipment and repairs as it relates to wire and cable equipment; operating lathes, milling machines, drill presses and other machine shop equipment without direction.
• Will perform preventive maintenance procedures, 5S activities and participate in continuous improvement events.
• Must maintain work area in a safe and orderly condition at all times.
• Ensure all products meet requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems.
• Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.
• Will be required to work overtime or different schedules when required and on short notice.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management.
• Must have all necessary mechanics’ tools.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English

Experience

• Some manufacturing experience preferred or demonstrated mechanical ability in an manufacturing environment preferred
• Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner

• Must be able to work independently according to verbal and written instructions
• Must learn basic computer transactions and inputs; must have ability to become certified SAP User
• Must have basic math and communication skills. Must develop and maintain proficiency in required job skills
• Must be capable of lifting or moving 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting or moving 75 lbs.
