Job summary

Central States Industrial (CSI) is seeking a Manufacturing Materials Associate to support material handling – receiving, staging, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control for CSI Fabrication operations. This hands-on role requires attention to detail and adaptability to changing demands.

You will work on-site in Springfield, MO, with duties spanning inbound, material management, outbound, and general shop activities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification, required.
  • Class E Driver's License, required.
  • Epicor Kinetic software, preferred.
  • Carpentry experience, preferred.
  • Computer knowledge, required.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, document, and store incoming materials per procedure.
  • Put away parts and stage job material in appropriate work cell or staging area.
  • Pack and prepare products for shipment and coordinate with logistics for on-time delivery.
  • Assist with cleanup of manufacturing area and maintain safe work environment.
  • Operate loading/unloading of trucks and maintain required records.

The Role:

The Manufacturing Materials Associate plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations through accurate, efficient, and effective material handling. This position serves a combination of receiving, staging, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control of material used in CSI Fabrication operations. Attention to detail and the ability to be flexible and adapt through changing demand and shifting priorities are key attributes to a successful Manufacturing Materials Associate.

What You'll Do:

Inbound

  • Check in and receive all types of material per procedure.
  • Receive and document lot tracked material per procedure.
  • Put away parts and stage job material in appropriate work cell or staging area.
  • Clear off and clean up receiving dock at the end of each work day.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Collect, capture, maintain and scan all documentation per procedure.

Job Material Management

  • Retrieve issued job material from staging area and take to point of use.
  • Pick inventory and take to point of use.
  • Cleaning of parts for manufacturing.
  • Assisting manufacturing commensurate with skill.
  • Process job return check in.
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Shop Supervisors and Coordination when discrepancies are noticed or questions arise.
  • Work in a manner consistent with safety principles and procedures established by CSI.

Outbound

  • Assemble and disassemble parts and equipment.
  • Package products for safe and secure shipment.
    • Crating, bagging, shrink wrapping, etc.
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Shop Supervisors, Coordination and Logistics team to ship correct product for on time delivery to customer.
  • Ship parcels, LTL and truckload shipments per procedure.
  • Make local pickup/ deliveries to support both Fabrication and Distribution activities.

General

  • Assist with cleanup of manufacturing area, buildings, grounds, and vehicles.
    • This may include removal of cardboard, pallets, and trash from shop
  • Local pick-up and delivery of vehicles.
  • Removal of metal chip barrels.
  • Complete assigned employee development training.
  • Support Distribution Center activities, as needed.
Education/Training:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a forklift certification, required
  • Class E Driver's License, required
Experience:
  • Carpentry experience, preferred
  • Computer knowledge, required
  • Epicor Kinetic software, preferred
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

This is an on-site, hands-on role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping throughout the shift
  • Lifting and moving materials up to 75 lbs (with assistance)
  • Use of close, distance, and peripheral vision with strong attention to detail
  • Exposure to typical grinding and polishing conditions (noise, dust, etc.)
  • Required use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots
