Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sunnyvale, CA is looking for a Manager Machining Manufacturing 1 to lead our Fabrication team. You will oversee daily operations, set priorities, and ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost and engagement across production.

Required: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 3 years), plus 2+ years of people leadership in manufacturing. You must be a U.S. citizen and willing to work weekends as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s considered with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Minimum 2 years’ people leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with continuous improvement and MS Office tools.
U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations across production for the Structural Fabrication team.
Directly supervise approximately 5-10 represented employees, including prioritization and scheduling.
Ensure work meets Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Engagement standards.
Monitor materials, tooling, and shipping readiness; resolve day-to-day issues.
Track KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, productivity, 5S) and drive continuous improvement.
Support program performance with cost, schedule and technical status reporting.
Manage EVMS for the assigned program and communicate constraints to teams.
Flexibility to work weekends to support operations as needed.
