Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an Engineer Manufacturing / Principal Engineer Manufacturing to support machining, assembly, and testing of high-value components. You will develop processes, adapt designs to factory needs, and drive cost reductions while ensuring safety and quality across shifts.

Applicants should have hands-on machining experience, strong drawing interpretation, and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance. Sunnyvale location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience or master's with 1+ years.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with machining and machine shops.
• Experience with mechanical assembly processes, welding and machining.
• Experience in technical writing.
• Ability to obtain US Government Secret Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new processes and tooling with an experienced team.
• Adapt machine or equipment design to factory conditions.
• Evaluate existing processes to reduce cost and improve sustainability.
• Develop efficient process flows and BOMs with safe procedures.
• Support new capital equipment for expanded production.
• Support final acceptance testing and test facility operations as needed.
• Assist with multiple production shifts based on schedules.
