Medtronic in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Manufacturing Manager for the 3rd shift to lead production operations across key value streams. You will drive safety, quality, delivery and cost performance while partnering with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to solve manufacturing challenges.

The role requires a collaborative leader with a track record in value stream transformation and talent development, reporting to the Manufacturing Director. Onsite presence is required five days per week.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years.
  • Prefer advanced Lean Certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

3rd Shift: M-F 9:00pm - 6:00am

Are you passionate about transforming operations, leading high-performing teams, and delivering measurable business results? As a Manufacturing Manager- 3rd Shift, you will provide leadership for production operations across key value streams that support multiple Medtronic Operating Units. Based in Tempe, Arizona, this role oversees the manufacturing of life-saving medical technologies used by patients worldwide. Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, you will lead a team of Production Supervisors and play a critical role in driving safety, quality, delivery, and operational performance. You will also lead high-impact continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging the tools and resources of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS). This highly visible position combines people leadership, operational excellence, and strategic execution. You will partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges, develop organizational capability, and drive sustainable process improvements. The role provides broad exposure across Medtronic's portfolio and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on products that improve and save lives every day. Develop and execute operational strategies that ensure success across key value streams while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people

Establish strategic direction and daily priorities for Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Operational Excellence (OpEx), and other support functions. Drive manufacturing performance to achieve production, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritize production schedules based on customer demand, new product introductions, equipment performance, and material availability. Manage operational budgets and administrative processes. Provide recommendations regarding capital investments and direct/indirect labor requirements. Recruit, develop, and retain talent to ensure a high-performing and engaged workforce. Establish workforce plans, staffing strategies, and resource allocation to meet business objectives.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Lean Certification or equivalent Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably within regulated industries
  • Proven success leading value stream transformation and continuous improvement efforts
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and talent development experience

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$108,800.00 - $163,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
