Job summary

Diversified Technical Systems Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Manager in Seal Beach, CA to lead Assembly and Test teams and drive production planning, scheduling, and process improvements.

You will partner with Production Control and Quality teams to maintain throughput, quality, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will have a 5+ year manufacturing management background in high tech environments, strong lean and 6S experience, and proficiency with SYSPRO ERP and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or manufacturing management or similar discipline.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in a manufacturing management role.
• Experience in high mix, fast-paced, high tech electromechanical manufacturing environment.

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible forperforming a wide variety of interfacing, coordinating, partnering,developing, implementing, and maintaining tasks, including but notlimited to, supervision of the manufacturing and logistics teams,meeting customer and internal deadlines, maintaining workload formanufacturing team, implementing process improvements, andcontinuously practicing safety measures.

Accomplishes department objectives by managing the manufacturingteam, organizing and monitoring work processes and budgets/forecasts,ensuring the quality and quantity of work produced, and ensuringstaffing requirements and adequate training are maintained.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

• Manages the Assembly and Test teams by ensuring the quality andquantity of work produced and overseeing the team’s daily workflow,assignments, resource allocation, and work schedules. Preparesperformance evaluations, makes salary recommendations, andparticipates in recruitment and hiring activities as needed.
• Supervises logistics and materials team to ensure all receiving,inventory movements, and shipping requirements are met
• Develops team’s job results by training, coaching, and counselingteam members, as well as, proactively addressing employee issues andperformance standards in collaboration with HR and Senior Management.
• Works with the Assembly and Test teams to ensure work orders arecompleted on schedule, labor resources are properly allocated, andjobs flow through the production process in a timely fashion.
• Identifies, develops ROI, and implements process improvements
• Partners with the Production Control Manager to maintain an evenand appropriate workload for the manufacturing team.
• Communicate with the purchasing team to ensure that shortages areidentified and resolved to meet customer and internal due dates.
• Coordinates with sales team representatives and the ProductionControl Manager to adjust schedules as needed to balance workloadand meet customer demand.
• Collaborates with the Manufacturing Engineering team to identifyand implement improvements to the manufacturing process andintroduce new products to the manufacturing team.
• Documents production nonconformances and work with Quality todefine root cause and corrective actions.
• Identifies, develops, monitors, and maintains key performanceindicators (KPIs).
• Develops and maintains ongoing programs for training andcontinuous improvement.
• Maintain safe working conditions. Adheres to all safetyregulations, policies and procedures including and departmentspecific requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by DTS Management.

• Bachelor degree in engineering, manufacturing management, orsimilar discipline and substantial related (approximately 5 years)experience in a manufacturing management role, or the equivalentcombination of education and experience is necessary.
• Related experience in a high mix, fast-paced, high tech,electro-mechanical manufacturing environment, as well as, a strongknowledge of electro-mechanical assembly techniques and standardsincluding IPC-610 and IPC-620, and lean manufacturing are necessary.
• Previous experience in implementing and sustaining 6S and/or LeanManufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience utilizing SYSPRO or similar MRP/ERP systemsfor the purpose of scheduling work orders, work centers, and WIP is necessary.
• Working knowledge of ISO 17025 and experience in managing teamresponsible for performing test and calibration procedures atvarying complexity levels is a plus.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and resourceplanning is preferred.
• Ability to effectively lead/manage a team utilizing stronganalytical, reasoning, inter-personal communication,problem-solving, and conflict resolution skill is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to appropriately address and documentdetails, meet deadlines, and communicate/work effectively with otherdepartments in a professional, diplomatic manner is necessary.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety ofaudiences (such as customers, vendors, executives, employees),verbally and in writing, is necessary.
• Demonstrated proficiency using various computer programs, such as;Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), andMicrosoft Project; is necessary.

Estimated Salary Range:

The estimated salary range listed below allows for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as room for growth achieved within the role over time. Offers extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity.

$130k - $155k annualized

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Equipment Use

This position works in an environment in which safety, environmentaland health concerns may demand constant attention. The workenvironment is a production and engineering area and typical businessoffice. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, andhave the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Occasional US and/or international travel to customer, vendor, corporate, and/or other sites may be necessary based on business orcustomer needs.

This position requires compliance with U.S. Export Controlrequirements. Therefore candidates must qualify as a a U.S. Person asdefined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15.
