Diversified Technical Systems Inc. in Seal Beach, CA, is seeking an Electronics Engineering Manager to lead an engineering team in developing data acquisition, sensor, and embedded recording platforms.

You will oversee projects, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate across firmware, software, mechanical, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and test readiness. The role requires strong leadership, a solid background in electrical engineering, and experience in project management

Qualifications

• BSEE or similar discipline with substantial engineering management experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering is a plus.
• Ability to lead an engineering team and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of the electronics engineering team for data acquisition, sensor, and embedded recording platforms.
• Plan and manage product development projects focusing on schedule and cost.
• Coordinate with firmware, software, mechanical, and quality teams to ensure DFM/DFT readiness.
• Review and sign-off on new electronics designs through release to production.

The Electronics Engineering Manager is responsiblefor performing a wide variety of engineering and project managementtasks, including but not limited to, supervising electronicsengineering team and manages product development projects,

• Responsible for direct supervision of the electronics engineeringteam to create leading edge, low power, highly compact designs fordata acquisition, sensor, and embedded recording platforms.
• Plans, scopes, and manages product development projects bywatching gauges, such as hours, cost, and other indicators.
• Closes gaps between team members’ communications, tools,materials, and schedules anomalies. Manages daily and weeklyactivities with priorities for the electronics team.
• Reports progress in terms of cost vs. budget, schedule,performance, and risks, possible missing deadlines, and resourcesconflicts to the Director, Engineering and Executive Team.
• Coordinates with firmware, software, mechanical, quality,technicians, planners, and other engineering resources to ensuredesign for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT).
• Develops and maintains process & infrastructure for electronicdesign and validation including releases and New ProductIntroduction (NPI) documentation packages.
• Reviews and signs-off new electronic designs at the conceptual,schematic, board release, initial test, and hand off to productionphases.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as requested byDTS management.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) orsimilar discipline and substantial related experience in anengineering management role or the equivalent combination ofeducation and experience is necessary. Master’s degree inEngineering (MSEE) or similar discipline is a plus.
• Ability to effectively lead/manage an engineering team utilizingstrong analytical, detailed oriented, reasoning, inter-personalcommunication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills isnecessary.
• Previous project management experience working with small teams aswell as the ability to effectively manage multiple projectssimultaneously is necessary.
• Ability to adhere to existing schedule templates using industrystandard milestones such as PDR, CDR is necessary.
• Ability to understand project requirements via Product DesignSpecifications (PDS) in order meet deadlines while working withother departments such as Business Development, sales, Tech Support,and Operations is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to appropriately address and documentdetails, meet deadlines, and communicate/work effectively with otherdepartments in a professional, diplomatic manner is necessary.
• Previous experience working with analog and digital circuitdesign, schematics, board layout, as well as, working with PCBAmanufacturers is necessary. Detailed knowledge of design circuitsto proper review and advice designers. Experience working withAltium NEXUS and/or LT-SPICE simulation is a plus.
• Previous experience with data acquisition system design is astrongly preferred. Understanding of analog and digital filters andtheir physical characteristics is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of test and measurement industry is aplus.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety ofaudiences (such as customers, vendors, executives, employees),verbally and in writing, is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to appropriately address and documentdetails, meet deadlines, and communicate/work effectively with otherindividuals/departments in a professional, diplomatic manner isnecessary.
• Demonstrated proficiency using various computer programs, such as,, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, etc.), as well asthe ability to use a variety of specialty tools is necessary.

Estimated Salary Range:

The estimated salary range listed below allows for candidates withvarious levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well asroom for growth achieved within the role over time. Offers extendedto a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge,skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity.

$130k - $185k annualized

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Equipment Use

This position works in an environment in which safety, environmentaland health concerns may demand constant attention. The workenvironment is a production and engineering area and typical businessoffice. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, andhave the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Occasional US and/or international travel to customer, vendor,corporate, and/or other sites may be necessary based on business orcustomer needs.

This position requires compliance with U.S. Export Controlrequirements. Therefore candidates must qualify as a a U.S. Person asdefined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15.
