Job summary

Kennametal is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (11:00 pm – 7:00 am) in Ohio. This role maintains CNC grinders, presses, furnaces, and related systems, repairing and upgrading components while following safety protocols.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of maintenance experience, can read schematics, and will participate in spill response and respirator evaluations. The position includes benefits and opportunities for growth within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance technician experience with relevant certification or technical training.
• Ability to read and comprehend schematics.
• Safety-minded; will participate in Kennametal Spill Response and Respirator Medical Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform daily PMs on CNC grinders, presses, sintering and finishing equipment, and related machinery.
• Collaborate with plant personnel to maintain equipment reliability and safety.

Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Shift - 3rd Shift. Hours 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

Job Description

This is a skilled multi-trade position responsible for supporting and maintaining CNC Grinders, Presses, Sintering furnaces, Wet and Dry media blasters, CVD Furnaces, PVD Furnaces, and the facility that encompasses the equipment. The individual will be interacting alongside plant personnel and independently working on installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and conducting PMs daily.

Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a maintenance technician supported by training from a certification program, vocational, or technical school pertaining to the skill sets listed above. The job requires frequent walking, climbing ladders, and standing for periods up to 8-12 hours a day. The applicant must be safety-minded and will be required to participate in the Kennametal Spill Response program. Will be required to pass a Respirator Medical Evaluation and participate on the Plant Emergency SCBA Response Team.

Work Environment

Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems. Safety glasses with side-shields required. Safety shoes required. Cut resistant gloves when necessary.

Physical Demands

Approximately 8 hours standing/ walking with two break opportunities per eight-hour work period. Frequent reaching, climbing, and bending. Lifting up to thirty-three (33) pounds.

Gather and analyze information, utilize learned skills, and critical reasoning to develop options and solve moderate to complex problems.
