Job summary

Kennametal Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our 3rd shift. You will install, troubleshoot and repair CNC grinders, presses, sintering and related equipment while performing preventive maintenance daily.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of maintenance experience and proficiency with PLCs, schematics, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics. A certification program plus safety commitments are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance technician experience.
• Training from a certification program, vocational, or technical school listed above.
• Ability to walk, climb ladders, and stand 8–12 hours daily.
• Willingness to participate in Spill Response and pass Respirator Medical Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain CNC grinders, presses, furnaces, and related equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform daily PMs and contribute to safety and housekeeping.
• Work on 3rd shift (11pm–7am) in a controlled environment.

This is a skilled multi-trade position responsible for supporting and maintaining CNC Grinders, Presses, Sintering furnaces, Wet and Dry media blasters, CVD Furnaces, PVD Furnaces, and the facility that encompasses the equipment. The individual will be interacting alongside plant personnel and independently working on installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and conducting PMs daily. We are hiring 3rd shift. Hours 11pm-7am.

Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience as a maintenance technician supported by training from a certification program, vocational, or technical school pertaining to the skill sets listed above. The job requires frequent walking, climbing ladders, and standing for periods up to 8-12 hours a day. The applicant must be safety-minded and will be required to participate in the Kennametal Spill Response program. Will be required to pass a Respirator Medical Evaluation and participate on the Plant Emergency SCBA Response Team.

Work Environment:

Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems. Safety glasses with side-shields required. Safety shoes required. Cut resistant gloves when necessary.

Physical Demands:

Approximately 8 hours standing/ walking with two break opportunities per eight-hour work period. Frequent reaching, climbing, and bending. Lifting up to thirty-three (33) pounds.

Gather and analyze information, utilize learned skills, and critical reasoning to develop options and solve moderate to complex problems.
