Job summary

Kennametal is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (11pm–7am) at our Ohio facility. You will install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, performing daily PMs on a range of equipment including CNC grinders, presses, and furnaces.

A strong safety mindset and experience with industrial systems are required. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, walk-and-work on a factory floor, and collaboration with plant teams to ensure reliable

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a maintenance technician with relevant training.
• Must be able to walk, climb ladders and stand up to 8–12 hours daily.
• Must participate in safety programs and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform PMs on CNC grinders, presses, furnaces, blasters, and related equipment.
• Collaborate with plant personnel to maintain equipment reliability and uptime.

Job Description

This is a skilled multi-trade position responsible for supporting and maintaining CNC Grinders, Presses, Sintering furnaces, Wet and Dry media blasters, CVD Furnaces, PVD Furnaces, and the facility that encompasses the equipment. The individual will be interacting alongside plant personnel and independently working on installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and conducting PMs daily. We are hiring 3rd shift. Hours 11pm-7am.

Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a maintenance technician supported by training from a certification program, vocational, or technical school pertaining to the skill sets listed above. The job requires frequent walking, climbing ladders, and standing for periods up to 8-12 hours a day. The applicant must be safety-minded and will be required to participate in the Kennametal Spill Response program. Will be required to pass a Respirator Medical Evaluation and participate on the Plant Emergency SCBA Response Team.

Work Environment

Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems. Safety glasses with side-shields required. Safety shoes required. Cut resistant gloves when necessary.

Physical Demands

Approximately 8 hours standing/ walking with two break opportunities per eight-hour work period. Frequent reaching, climbing, and bending. Lifting up to thirty-three (33) pounds.

Gather and analyze information, utilize learned skills, and critical reasoning to develop options and solve moderate to complex problems.
