Job summary

Staffpros in New Berlin, WI is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for 1st shift. This role offers hands-on training with an experienced professional who will retire this year, and then transition to independent work.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, and maintain safety standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Safety-minded with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, plumbing, and control system issues
  • Diagnose machine failures and complete repairs to minimize downtime
  • Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and support machinery
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Assist with facility maintenance, including building systems and utilities
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and safety-related maintenance issues
  • Participate in facility safety initiatives and support safe work practices
  • Assist with hazardous material handling and disposal procedures
  • Research replacement parts and coordinate ordering when needed
  • Develop and improve preventative maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Operate forklifts and other maintenance equipment safely
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for occasional building emergencies
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned

Location: New Berlin, WI
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 1st Shift (5:00 AM or 6:00 AM Start)
Pay: Up to $30.00/hour depending on experience

A well-established manufacturing company in the New Berlin area is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its team on 1st shift. This is an outstanding opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced maintenance professional who will be retiring at the end of the year. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training while learning the facility, equipment, and preventative maintenance systems before transitioning into the role independently.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, solving mechanical and electrical problems, and working in a manufacturing environment where no two days are exactly the same.
