Job Title:

Manufacturing and Maintenance Technician

Department:

Reports to:

Production Manager

Position purpose:

Design, fabricate, maintain, and troubleshoot production and test equipment. Support continuous improvement efforts by working with engineering to develop new processes and implement cost-saving measures.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

1. Design and fabricate new semi-automatic and automatic manufacturing equipment
2. Troubleshoot and repair production equipment including drive units, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, AC and DC circuits, sensors, and switches
3. Facilities maintenance and repairs
4. Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled
5. Fabrication and installation of fixturing
6. Perform product testing and some production duties as required
7. Provide design input concerning the manufacturability of new parts
8. Machine installation, start-up, decommissioning, and rigging
9. Lead safety assessment and documentation processes
10. Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

1. Manual mill and lathe experience
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field
3. Demonstrated machine building skills
4. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve PLC and electromechanical equipment
5. Broad working knowledge of PLCs and ladder logic
6. Broad working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control circuits
7. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
8. AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
9. Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS preferred
