With our increased demand for our renowned soy sauce, we are seeking to add a talented Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic for Swing Shift. Must have strong skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting factory food production machinery, as well as general maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all manufacturing machines, buildings, and equipment to ensure continued operational condition.
- Assist in general manufacturing maintenance of forklifts, automobiles, and other equipment.
- Minimize downtime related to food processing and machinery failure through preventive maintenance.
- Specify equipment requirements and collaborate with vendors professionally and effectively.
- Perform parts pickup and other maintenance-related functions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. This position is primarily for the Graveyard Shift, but flexibility for other shifts or partial shifts may be required based on workload.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a full-charge manufacturing maintenance mechanic in a similar-sized plant.
- Working knowledge of welding, boilers, air compressors, and hydraulics.
- Knowledge of manufacturing plant operations and maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Experience in maintaining and repairing automobiles and forklifts.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, slide, push, or pull up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, kneel, and move freely as required for repairs.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to utilize tools and hardware effectively.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders to access machinery across multiple plant levels.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk up to 8 hours per day.
- Access to all areas of the plant and surrounding property.
- Tolerance for heights, dust, noise, and extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, sleet, hail, and snow.
- Certification to operate a forklift, approved by NIOSH or OSHA standards.
- Organized and able to adhere to schedules and timetables, ensuring prompt emergency maintenance.
- Physical capability to operate cutting equipment, machine tools, and electrical testing devices.
- Effective communication skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to respond to emergency maintenance calls at any time, including weekends and holidays.
Education and Experience
- Completion of an accredited high school equivalency program.
- At least 2 years of additional technical training in mechanics, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, welding, metal maintenance, drive systems, or automotive repair.
Or alternatively:
- 5 years of practical experience maintaining all aspects of a manufacturing plant or production facility, including machinery, electrical, sensors, and control systems.
