Job summary

A Day in the Life:

As the Maintenance Manager, you will lead and manage the Facilities and Maintenance staff to ensure daily responsibilities support manufacturing operations across the plant. You will oversee complex projects, assess facility needs, and coordinate outside contractors to maintain grounds, facilities, and office areas efficiently and cost-effectively.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Exhibit leadership to advance the business through team efforts.
  • Empower team members to meet goals and foster a positive work environment.
  • Drive operational improvements, innovation, and technology utilization.
  • Collaborate on annual plans including budgets and staffing.
  • Lead safety initiatives and optimize assets.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs and repair activities to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and Risk Management standards.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage emergency response teams and continuous improvement projects.
External Contractors:
  • Supervise vendor relations and manage contracts for security, cleaning, landscaping, and other services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years in plant maintenance or facilities management within food processing.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to prioritize issues and supervise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and mechanical trades.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% and work shifts including weekends and 24/7 requests.

Education:

  • BSc in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, understanding of food technology (preferably chocolate), Lean/Six Sigma Certification.
