Job summary

The Hillman Group is seeking an on-site maintenance technician to independently perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment in a packaging environment. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical failures, execute scheduled PM tasks, and interpret manuals and schematics to keep equipment running smoothly.

Responsibilities include replacing motors and sensors, troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems, documenting work in CMMS, and supporting downtime reduction

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair equipment failures with systematic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance principles and schedules.

Essential Job Functions*
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment failures.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules.
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Replace motors, drives, sensors, and other components.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Support equipment startups and validations after maintenance.
  • Document completed work in the CMMS system.

  • Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of maintenance, industrial, or related experience.
Competencies – Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Skill in diagnosing and repairing equipment failures using systematic troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and schedules.
  • Ability to perform maintenance work safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to document maintenance activities accurately using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks in support of production demands.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work Environment

Packaging - Material Handler Self-paced, 8 hr shifts. May be exposed to fumes, loud noises, and extreme temperatures infrequently. Functional near, far and peripheral vision and functional hearing required.

Physical Demands

Packaging - Material Handler Heavy, lifting up to 85 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 280 lbs.
