Job summary

Fastenal in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Manufacturing Machinist to set up and operate turning centers, machining centers, and various manual equipment at the IN180 facility. This full-time role offers a potential flexible schedule after onboarding and performance goals.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with strong math, communication, and organizational skills, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (up to 100 lbs). Training provided, with a focus on health and safety and sustainability.

OVERVIEW

Working as Full-time Manufacturing Machinist, you will setup and operate multiple pieces of equipment such as turning centers, machining centers, and various other pieces of manual equipment. The successful candidate must understand machine operation and capabilities of each of those machines. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• o Performing accurate inspections on product
• o Running multiple pieces of equipment at the same time
• o Providing assistance to other employees when needed
• o Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• o Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• o Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• o Learning, passing and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• o 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
• o Excellent written and oral communication skills
• o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
