Job summary

Fastenal Co. in Winona, MN is seeking a Part-time Entry-Level Machinist to set up and operate multiple machines, including saws and threading machines. Training will be provided as this is an entry-level role.

Shifts are MON to SUN with up to 28 hours per week. Candidates must be 18+ with strong math, communication, and teamwork skills and must follow health, safety, and sustainability rules.

Up to 28 hours/week

OVERVIEW:

Working as Part-time Entry-Level Machinist, you will setup and operate multiple pieces of equipment such as saws, threading machines, bending machines and various other pieces of manual equipment. This an entry-level position and training will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learning machine operation and capabilities of multiple machines
• Running multiple pieces of equipment at the same time
• Performing accurate inspections on product
• Providing assistance to other employees when needed
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs

COMPENSATION:

The pay range for this position is $18/hr -34/hr.
