Job summary

Cerro Wire LLC is seeking a production operator to run copper wire manufacturing equipment on a 12-hour shift in a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will learn and operate drawing, bunching, and extrusion processes using computerized controls to meet daily production goals.

Responsibilities include quality checks, safety, housekeeping, and collaboration with teammates. Must be able to read orders in English and obtain forklift certification; employment requires background check and drug screening.

• Must read, write, and interpret production orders in English.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Employment is contingent upon passing pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical.

• Operate production equipment to manufacture high-quality copper wire.
• Learn production processes such as drawing, bunching, and extrusion.
• Use computer controls to run equipment.
• Produce to prescribed guides to meet daily output targets.
• Perform hourly quality checks for standards compliance.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment on the production floor.
• Keep lines and areas clean and organized.
• Ask questions when tasks are unclear to ensure understanding.
• Provide support on the floor as needed and perform other duties.

With several machines in each plant that contribute to another leg of product manufacturing that develop each team member’s skill and development.This is a 12-hour shift on 2-2-3 rotating schedule.ResponsibilitiesRun production equipment to produce high-quality electrical copper wire.Learn the various aspects of production processes, such as drawing, bunching, and extrusion.Utilize computer controls to operate production equipment.Run production equipment to prescribed guides to achieve daily production goals efficiently.Perform hourly quality checks to ensure product meets quality standards.Work to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and all teammates, always.Maintain good housekeeping around lines, production floor, and communal areas.When unclear, ask question(s) to obtain a full and clear understanding of the task and/or standard at hand.Assist where needed on the production floor as assigned by leadership completing duties other than producing product on your regularly assigned equipment.Other duties assigned.RequirementsMust be able to read, write, and interpret production orders in English.Ability to obtain a forklift certification.Operators must be able to follow instructions and work well with others.Must be 18 years of age or older.Employment is contingent upon passing pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical.Working ConditionsOperators are constantly exposed to elevated level of noise and several types of materials including nylon, PVC, machine fluids, cleaning products, and more.
