Job summary

Pelican Wire/Wire Experts Group is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Supervisor responsible for directing first-shift operations and guiding the second-shift supervisor to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and 6S targets. You will drive daily execution, coach staff, and ensure clear cross-team communication to satisfy customer commitments.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, workforce readiness, and strong leadership across both shifts, with accountability for performance and escalation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical, manufacturing, leadership, or business-related education preferred.
• 3-5 years in a supervisory position.
• Experience leading multiple shifts and coordinating shift handoff.
• Strong ability to lead through accountability, coaching, communication, and follow-up.
• Knowledge of safety, quality, production, cost, delivery, and workplace organization expectations in manufacturing.
• Ability to use performance measurables to identify gaps and drive improvements.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with production systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises first-shift operators and provides guidance for the second-shift supervisor.
• Ensure operators follow the production schedule and meet customer commitments.
• Coordinate shift-to-shift communication, staffing readiness, and escalation of issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) and sustain daily execution.
• Develop workforce readiness through cross-training, coaching, and succession planning.
• Promote team engagement and clear communication across both shifts.
