Job Summary

The Manufacturing Programmer at CST Covers is responsible for developing, editing, and maintaining CNC programs used across a range of specialized routers and cutting machines. This role requires expert-level understanding of CAD/CAM software and a deep familiarity with equipment programming for 2-axis and 5-axis machines. The Programmer will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe operations in support of CST’s mission to deliver precision-engineered cover solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and optimize CNC programs using SheetCam, CAMProX, CAMPlus, and AutoCAD.
• Translate 2D/3D engineering drawings into machine-readable formats for cutting and routing.
• Program and support the following machines:
• ESAB Table Router (2-axis)
• KOMO Table Router (2-axis)
• Onsrud Table Router (2-axis)
• Onsrud X Series (5-axis)
• Emmegi (5-axis)
• Collaborate with operators to troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues.

• Maintain program version control, toolpath optimization, and post-processors.
• Ensure program accuracy, material efficiency, and machine safety.
• Work closely with engineers to support new designs and prototyping.
• Review and revise programs to improve process speed, accuracy, and material usage.
• Document programming procedures and maintain CNC file libraries.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certification or Associate’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on CNC programming experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SheetCam, CAMProX, and CAMPlus.
• Demonstrated experience programming 2-axis and 5-axis machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and manufacturing best practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
• Proven ability to manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
