What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Analyze current system safety requirements and system architecture of steering and braking systems for agricultural machinery
• Examine software requirements, architecture documents, and C++ based embedded source code
• Create software safety requirements and architecture documentation based on reverse engineered source code
• Identify gaps in software traceability according to the ISO 26262:2018 standard
• Suggest software design improvements based on functional safety requirements and risk assessment
  
  

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Knowledge of section 6 of the ISO 26262 standard
• Hands-on experience in C++ software design and development for embedded systems in off-highway heavy machinery or automotive
• Experience in analyzing risk assessments, safety requirements, and system architecture
• Experience in creating software safety requirement specifications and architecture design documentation
  
  

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience designing control software for a distributed network for CAN or Ethernet communication
• Knowledge of the ISO standard for agricultural machinery
• Certified Functional Safety Engineer
