Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide hands-on leadership across accounting and financial reporting for a multi-entity manufacturing group on Long Island. Hybrid work arrangement with three days onsite.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing controller-level experience, strong cost and standard costing expertise, and a track record in consolidations, gross-margin analysis, and cash flow management. CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Significant Controller-level accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong cost accounting and standard costing expertise.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations.
• Hands-on leadership in month-end close and financial reporting.
• Cash management and working-capital optimization.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
• Private equity-backed or middle-market experience preferred.
• Onsite work three days per week on Long Island.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting and month-end close process across multiple entities and manufacturing locations
• Oversee consolidations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
• Strengthen the company's cost accounting and standard costing processes
• Improve visibility into gross margin by SKU, customer, product, and other key dimensions
• Oversee inventory accounting, COGS, purchase price variances, production variances, labor absorption, and material costs
• Partner with operations to improve manufacturing cost and profitability reporting
• Manage cash flow, cash forecasting, and working capital
• Review existing accounting processes, controls, and master data and identify areas for improvement
• Provide hands-on leadership and support to the accounting team
• Support the financial integration and reporting needs of a growing, multi-site organization
