Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Controller for its local plant in Ohio. The role combines strong accounting expertise with manufacturing experience, inventory management, and small-team leadership to drive financial accuracy and performance.

The ideal candidate will supervise a small accounting team, manage AR/AP/payroll and pricing, and own the monthly close process. A 4-year degree in business/accounting is strongly preferred and 10+ years of accounting experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting background with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience supervising a small accounting team and hands-on involvement in AR, AP, Payroll, pricing, etc.
• Proven ability to close monthly books and coordinate with external auditors.
• Solid balance sheet expertise with reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A activities.
• Cost and inventory analysis experience is required.
• 10+ years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a small accounting team and stay hands-on.
• Oversee AR, AP, Payroll, pricing, and related processes.
• Coordinate monthly close timing and accuracy.
• Collaborate with audit teams to provide necessary information.
• Maintain strong balance sheet and perform detailed reconciliations.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Apply FP&A experience where applicable.
• Perform cost and inventory analysis.
• Bring 10+ years of accounting experience to the role.
• Hold a 4-year degree in business or accounting (preferred).
