Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a CNC Programmer to support state-of-the-art machining center operations near Jackson, TN. The role focuses on creating, testing, and optimizing CNC programs to maximize machine performance, productivity, and part quality.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of CNC programming experience, strong knowledge of ESPRIT EDGE CAM software, and the ability to read GD&T drawings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in machining or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years CNC programming experience.
• Proven experience with ESPRIT EDGE CAM software.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining centers, including 3-axis and 5-axis equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Experience selecting and optimizing cutting tools and machining parameters.
• Proficiency in CNC controls such as Fanuc, Mazak, Mitsubishi or similar.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using ESPRIT EDGE software.
• Develop machining strategies for complex components utilizing multi-axis machining centers.
• Generate toolpaths, setup sheets and maintain tooling lists and related documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, machinists, quality personnel, and production teams to improve processes and reduce cycle times.
• Verify and simulate CNC programs to eliminate collisions and ensure process reliability.
• Select cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and work-holding methods for optimal production results.
• Support machine setup and prove-out activities for new and existing products.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the shop floor.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
• Maintain accurate program revisions and documentation within company systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.

This will be a long-term contract position with the possibility of converting full time.
