Job summary

American Woodmark Corp. is seeking an HR professional to assist in coordinating Human Resources, Safety/Compliance, and Training/Development functions within a manufacturing setting.

This role supports hourly staff and helps ensure compliance with policies while contributing to SQDC goals. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in HR management, strong Microsoft Office skills, and may benefit from bilingual Spanish capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary point of contact for HR department for hourly employees.
• Assists HR Manager in coordinating recruiting activities; salary and hourly.
• Provides counseling on policy, benefits, salary administration, training/development; monitors compliance.
• Maintains employee files and HR data for hourly staff; manages attendance policy.
• Represents company in unemployment hearings as needed.
• Conducts investigations into employee complaints, including harassment and discrimination.
• Manages transfers between departments via job postings; supports SQDC goals.
• Participates in identifying hiring needs and training processes; supervises teams as needed.
