Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Norcross, GA is seeking a Machine Assistant - Stacker to safely support our fast-paced packaging facility. You will assist the machine operator, conduct quality checks and help with setup and housekeeping.

This onsite role requires a learning mindset, ability to read English, basic math, and the physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot or cold environments. Starting pay is $18.50/hr with potential to $19.80/hr+.

Qualifications

• A learning mindset.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
• Ability to read materials to understand and apply content, such as instruction manuals, procedure manuals or assembly manuals.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and other safety gear as required (PPE provided).
• Ability to stand and walk continuously with occasional kneeling, crouching, squatting, bending, climbing, and grasping.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in an uncontrolled temperature environment (hot or cold).

• Support the operation of a fast-paced packaging manufacturing facility.

• The Manufacturing Helper is normally the third team member assigned to a machine in the Production.
• Being able to support operators on different machinery while assisting different areas as needed.
• Duties include ensuring tooling for the machine is on hand, assisting the machine operator and assistant operator with setups and jam-ups, and keeping the area around the machine clean of debris and spills.
