Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Atlanta, GA is hiring an entry level Machine Helper for 1st shift with a premium for night shift. The role requires safety focus, basic math and measurement skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

You will support equipment operation, quality checks, and housekeeping, with opportunities to advance within the operations team.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing setting.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good communication and initiative to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate various production equipment safely and follow directions.
• Able to lift/pull >50 lbs, navigate stairs, stand long hours.
• Read a tape measure (to 1/16 inch) and perform basic math.
• Perform make ready and shutdown procedures.
• Understand quality inspection criteria, product IDs and labeling.
• Maintain waste and efficiency standards.
• Inspect equipment and report issues.
• Perform housekeeping and organize work areas.
