Job summary

General Motors Manufacturing Group in Detroit is seeking a Group Leader to own daily production plans, manage manpower, and keep production flowing in a fast-paced environment.

You will drive Lean initiatives, champion quality, and enforce TA1 requirements while coaching Team Leaders and collaborating with union partners.

This onsite, full-time role requires high school diploma, supervisory experience, and willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• One year of direct team supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be willing to work weekends and rotating shifts
• GM does not provide immigration sponsorship.
• This role is onsite reporting to a specific location on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

• Analyze and adjust daily manufacturing plans; manage manpower allocation and respond promptly to issues to maintain production flow
• Lead Lean reduction initiatives and drive continuous improvement across Safety, Quality, Throughput, and Cost
• Enforce quality processes with customer safety at the center; address build discrepancies and TA1 compliance
• Coach and mentor team members and Team Leaders to develop skills and adhere to standard work
• Locate and analyze operational data to support accountability and continuous improvement
