Job summary

Jefferson Wells, a division of ManpowerGroup, seeks a General Ledger Accountant to support month-end close, journal entries, and inventory costing in a manufacturing environment. This contract role requires strong GAAP knowledge and ERP experience.

The position is onsite in Ashburn, VA, with a three-day-per-week onsite work schedule and a W2 hourly rate of $40–$50. Candidate will collaborate with finance and operations to ensure accurate reporting and timely audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with deadlines.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments per GAAP.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities.
• Support inventory accounting, COGS analysis, and cycle counts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing/operations for accurate reporting of production costs.
• Assist in financial audits with required documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements and uphold internal controls.
